The Joel Spencer Design team

joel spencer - managing & creative director

Joel is a qualified designer with over 14 years experience working in both London and Sydney.

He has worked across a variety of sectors including Government, Professional Services, Retail and Wholesale, IT, Education and small businesses. Joel's speciality is in working with architects and urban planners developing brand identities, environmental graphics and communications materials.

Richard Scenna - Studio/Marketing ManagER

Richard holds a Degree in Commerce (Marketing). He has over 14 years marketing, relationship programs and project management experience gained in Australia and US. Prior to joining JSD, he spent 7 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in various marketing, technology and project management roles.

Jack McClean - Designer

Jack has over 5 years experience across a diverse range of projects including corporate IDs, catalogues, signage, billboards, web, eDMs, video and motion graphics. He has recently worked on projects for JSD government clients including NSW Department of Transport and NSW Department of Planning & infrastructure.

Michael Spencer - Architectural Illustrator & Designer

Michael is a highly experienced architectural illustrator with over 40 years experience working with a wide range of clients such as advertising and brand agencies, developers, councils, estate agents and architects. He provides architectural visualisations for residential, commercial and industrial developments.

Ben carew - web designer/developer

With a Design Certificate from UTS and Bachelor of Communications from UWS, Ben has nearly a decade of experience in web design and implemtation, keeping up to date with the latest web-based technologies, including website design and HTML coding and flash and animation development.

Ben coordinates all functionality for websites and provides practical advice to clients on design development from both an aesthetic and technical view.  From the approval of web design, Ben creates working HTML templates and works to implement these with the Technical Director.  Ben can also supply hosting, URL registration and set up services.

liam egan - web Strategist / developer

Liam is an web application developer and web strategist with more than 10 years industry experience. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from UTS, a certificate in web design from Shillington Graphics college, Sydney and is a developer with the Symphony foundation.

Liam has worked with several big name brands developing websites, web applications, intranets and mobile applications. Some of his clients over the years have included MTV Australia, MTV France, Nintendo, Village Roadshow, Hopscotch Films, Thomson Learning.

Tara madden - copywriting

Tara holds a BA in Professional Writing from the University of Canberra and is currently completing a Masters in Creative Writing at UTS. Tara has extensive experience writing copy for government agencies in the UK and Australia and has developed content in areas such as transport, planning, environmental issues, urban design and small business solutions. Tara's recent work includes writing for the NSW Ministry of Transport, NSW Building Professionals Board and NSW Department of Planning.

Caroline joined the JSD team over 2 years ago and manages our accounts.
